Monday Inspration (on Tuesday)- Pulled Taffy

Its no secret that I love candy.

So when we were at the grocery store the other day, and I found this old fashion pulled taffy and they were half price, I had to get one in every flavor they had.

Not only were the wonderful tasting and smelling. Wild Cherry, Lemonade, Cotton Candy, and Grape were my favorites. The colors which peek thru the wrapper were bright and beautiful once opened. They reminded me of watercolors they way to colors blended to make other shades.

And was also quite relevant to the watercolor treatments I am doing on fabric lately.

The taffy is by Hammond's Candies and a quick visit to there website I found out they are located only 10 miles from my friends house in Denver and they do factory tours. Looks like I found something ill be doing when I am there in a couple months.

They also sell all their different candy creations on there site, the one that has caught my eye is Vanilla Mitchell Sweets which is a marshmallow dipped in vanilla caramel. What could be better?

Monday Inspration - Dark and stormy

So its been on and off thunder storms here all weekend. In fact the lightning has kept me up the last 2 nights. Which is fine by me, because there is nothing I love more then a good thunder storm. And here on the Chesapeake bay we get our fare share of good ones, in fact it was almost a year ago that we got a direct hit. It blew out everything electrical in the house, blew the battery in the boat in to a million pieces and got battery acid all over the interior, and melted a plastic broom that was in the shed in to one big nub of plastic.

Even after that I still love storms, there is something about them that make me feel alive. The energy in the air and power the wind, rain and lightning have.

Monday Inspration

I spent most of my weekend on the boat, and boy was it windy. If I sit still i am still long enough I can still feel the waves.

The rest of my weekend was spent making new jewelry and packing up the orders that sold over the last few days. Thank you so much to everyone!
